DALLAS, March 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Brinker International, Inc. (NYSE: EAT) announced they have signed an agreement with Moussa Haidar to develop five On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina restaurants in South Texas. As part of the deal, Haidar purchased the existing On The Border restaurant in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The development agreement is part of the Brinker strategy to expand domestic and international franchise ownership of its brands from 20 percent to approximately 30 percent within the current calendar year.

Based in Houston, Texas, Haidar's company currently operates 10 family style restaurants throughout South Texas. The five restaurants will be developed in the following areas: San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Harlingen and Laredo.

This agreement is particularly exciting because of the opportunity to work with a leader in the restaurant industry such as Brinker, said Haidar. I look forward to bringing the On The Border experience to South Texas.
